Links

I know links aren't that insane, but they are going to be pretty random and well I had to stick them somewhere. Check these sites out while I try to move my ass along with my site and thus try to make your stay here longer than ten freaking minutes. These links open up right in this window so make your choices carefully heh

MAY '09 Update OMG OMG OMG This isn't exactly the latest version of website that was on the internet before as my links were a little more fuller then. Anyways, a thing I always found interesting about these links is all the ones that don't work that were on the disflux domain. Back in the day if you created a NES website and then got it in time hosted on disfux you officially made it to the big leagues!! All the cool websites got hosted there. Then suddenly one day they just started disappearing and disflux was no longer on the internet anymore. I never really understood what happened there....

So the majority of these links don't work, but I left them anyways. I did add the Classic Game Room link though not that I needed to, I just added it because the Classic Game Room is one of the coolest places in the world!

Videogames

As I have said I'm not the first person to have a site around old school gaming, dozens have come before and some are actually worse than mine! Here though I am going to list some really great sites, the only problem I have with some of them is the webmasters stopped working on them or haven't updated in awhile! For shame because they have some great ideas that I'm sometimes tempted to well, just check them out if you like.

Polas' Goodtime Retro Cafe

This site was probably the main inspiration for me in making my web page. This guy knows how to cover a game and no one else seems to do it as good or in his style. Though my style is somewhat similiar to his, there is one huge difference. I actually asked the guy who runs the site if he'd be interested in accepting a co-owner (maybe I should have used the word lackie), but he told me it wouldn't fit in with his ego gimmick. His site is a contrast to mine in that while my site takes a more humble approach, he glorifies himself on his site. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that though because I've been down that road and it was great. I've just become more humble as I aged. If you at all liked this site go there now! He also covers Atari 2600 games among some more obscure games. Hey I never thought a review of a bowling game could be so funny as well.

The Classic Game Room

This generally is one of my favorite hang outs on the internet now. Mark has a great sense of humor and does very informative reviews. I like his quirky sense of humor and his often random rants on things past and links them to the current game he is playing. The forum community is great too. If you are actually reading this you already know about this site as I likely posted the link there. So feel free to go back there since it is a better website than mine. Oh yeah and the Original Classic Game Room was awesome too. Dave rocks!

Old Skooled

This site has the funniest comics I have seen on the net. If there is only one thing you check out on this site, make sure you look at them! The main comics consist of some of the great nintendo characters spending their days at a bar, though the location does shift occasionally. I would probably pop a brain cell laughing if I didn't access the internet at hours past 11pm and the fact that my mom is asleep and her room is right next to mine. Life ain't fair sometimes eh?

Videogame Director Cuts

Ever wish you could experience some new old school gaming action (yeah that sounds weird to me too) well this site can make your dreams come true! There are lots of flash movies people have made and they look just like their respective videogame. Not all of them are that great, but still even the lamer ones are kinda cool beacause it's about what I love. The site is made entirely in flash and the music between your selections to download can be annoying, but I guess you'll just have to make do. I have to turn my mp3 playlist off when I go here. If you check out one video make it the Donkey Kong Country one. Too bad life isn't that good all the time!

Seanbaby.com

This site is widely known for it's hillarious nes coverage. I don't think when this guy made the site he expected his nes section to get so popular. It is definitely a must read, but I've found other parts of his site that are pretty damn funny as well. If you have some time look around them too. I know what I'm doing next Fourth of July!

The Old School Gamer

If you are looking for insanity go here. This is a great site that deals with the nintendo, but it takes a very different approach to it. This site is hard to describe in words and really should be visited. It's really too bad the guy's real life got too busy and hectic and lost interest in working on his page. This guy should definitely come out of retirement.

This Old Nes

This basically feels like your standard website, but that's not a bad thing! It has a well implemented menu bar and a extremely clean look to it. It's also a fun place to go to, so I highly suggest checking it out.

Big Stu's 8 Bit NES Wonderland

This a excellent and very professional looking site. I just feel at ease here. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but it just gives off a very warm aura. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the owner has this nostaglia trip page and I just get a rush of great feelings from it. Definitely go here!

Those are my favorite old school videogame sites on the net and I am happy to have found them in my late night web searches. I may add more if I find a particulary great site, but I think this link list is really good. Expect more links on other interests in the near future.

Back to Main Page

I'd think you would have already left my site by now, but I figured I would add this link just in case you want to stick around for some reason and I'd actually like to know it too.
